Sometimes we are given a gift from God that we at first may not recognize as a perfect gift for us. We are slow to accept or fully unwrap the gifts God has given to us because the gifts are not what we asked for nor quite what we expected.

The first chapter of James teaches believers how we are to respond to trials and temptations in our lives and concludes by saying:

Every good and perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.

James 1:17

Can it be that God is creating in us perseverance and wisdom to bring us to a place of completeness if we can learn to trust and walk with Him as we accept the gift of raising a child with special needs?

Marcy’s testimony shares her personal experience of having a child diagnosed with special needs. She teaches Biblical truths that encourage us to walk with God through the parts of our lives that are unexpected to us- but not God. She effectively communicates how she has learned to live with greater joy through trusting in Him and His plans.

Marcy is available to speak for women’s groups, sanctity of human life Sundays, and other events that bring awareness to the challenges faced by families of children with special needs.
